Do not rush through the wild; do not run from the pain. Though you may be without hope or you’re filled with sorrow, the Lord knows your name and your frame. He knows each thought and cry that sits deep in your bones. He sees confusion and shame are becoming your home. Do not rush through the wild, you know you can’t if you try. Though distractions are many and denial is plenty, those are illusions of pride that deny your humanity inside. If we have any doubt of this truth, we look to Christ crucified; He did not run from the wild, nor deny the trial. He walked with his face set toward the City and his mind on God, suffering until death, the Creator made flesh. Do not rush through the wild, but walk with the Father. Stay in these moments though they may feel dark and hollow. In the darkness you’ll find, the light reaches from outside. Out goes your pride, platitudes, and strife. Just like Jesus, we can not deny that injustice is real and pain is alive. But we know a truer reality, which bows to Jesus the Christ. He did not rush through the wild but passed through Sheol; defeating death with scars and suffering untold. It is the blood of the martyrs and the cries of the saints that rise up to the heavens and reach His glorious face. He is moved by our faith to bring justice and save those whom He loves; so let us seek His face. We who cry out that God is our King can be confident that He will rescue us, so we sing, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.”
